It is true that Nepal still suffer from lack of adequate mental health professionals and treatment facilities. There are limited mental health hospitals in the country, and mental health services are not easily available in rural and remote areas. Mental health infrastructure is poor and human resources are not sufficient to meet the need. Therefore in this episode Ms. Shreeya Giri a mental health advocate, talking about the various mental health issues and possible remedies to overcome the mental health problem.

Shreeya Giri is the founder/managing director of Happyminds.health, one of the first online mental health and wellbeing platforms of Nepal. Her academic background comes from London South Bank University where she pursued her post-graduation degree in MSc International Business Management with Project Management. As an international student graduating amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, Ms Giri was quickly forced to realise her academic journey of research, internship and networking were going to be pragmatic. Ms Giri’s interests are rooted in creating projects, market research and mental health. Before her entrepreneurial journey, she was working as a project coordinator for the UK’s market research industry. When the pandemic changed the working circumstances, Ms Giri chose to provide freelancing project management services and created projects that gratify her. Currently, the start-up has over 30 mental health and project management professionals from around the world that provides digital mental health literacy and psychotherapy services to lead a journey of a healthy life, physically and mentally. One of Ms Giri’s projects has now become Nepal’s first mental health company to offer an Employee Assistance Program to provide and promote mental health care and wellbeing services to corporate houses like Unilever Nepal, The British College, Dabur Nepal, Leapfrog and more.
